Testimonials Longshaw Consulting Group

Guy is a talented and insightful coach, mentor and leadership development facilitator. Apart from being an incredibly decent chap, he is hugely empathetic, has the ability to motivate and inspire others to be the best they can be, and has a vast array of experience about career management, building resilience, well being and creating the lives we deserve. I have worked with Guy professionally and personally at Centrica, KPMG and Cancer Research UK over a number of years and would heartily recommend him as a professional and friendly consultant, who always gains rave reviews from those with whom he works.

Garcia Williamson – Talent, Leadership Development and Learning Freelance and Interim Manager

I have known Madeline for many years now in my capacity of HR Director at Diabetes UK and Fremantle Trust. Madeline worked with us to design and deliver training as well as being a Coach for our senior Managers. Madeline was key in designing and implementing Quality Conversations programme which was a 1.5 day programme for all Managers to equip them to inspire and engage their teams to deliver exceptional results. Madeline also delivered several team sessions across both organisations using Insights Discovery. She also designed and facilitated several sessions for the Board of Directors helping them determine their vision, purpose and values.

Madeline brings a great deal of energy to what she does. She really believes in making a positive difference to the people she works with and the organisation at large. She has an engaging communications style that people find engaging and personable. She gets great results because she brings out the best in individuals, teams and the cultures she works with. She has been an asset to both organisations I have worked with her in and she feels like a trusted partner and sounding board to me along the way. I’m looking forward to our next project together.

Deirdre Saliba – HR Director, Care Sector
I’ve had the pleasure of participating in two of Madeline’s courses, and I went away motivated, inspired and uplifted both times.

Madeline has a way of putting a voice to the unexpressed and, in this way, helps her learners feel understood and to truly connect with what she’s saying.

Because of Madeline, I have a better understanding of what my strengths are, and have gained insight into how to lead and empower my team in being more productive at work.

Sacha McIness – Policy and communications Manager, Financial Services

We recently worked with Guy to help understand and “unpick” the team dynamics in our business. As a small team Guy helped us to understand how important it is to find out how and why we all operate in the way we do.

Guy organised a team session for us which was extremely insightful. He spent time with us as a team and as individuals asking questions and enabling us to think about our behaviour and motivations – it was brilliant!

Guy has a fantastic positive energy whilst still being able to tackle sensitive issues or concerns.
He is passionate about what he does, brings wonderful calm to the room and always delivers sound, practical advice. An expert in his field, I can wholeheartedly recommend him.

Caroline Deutsch – Director Select Appointments UK

Madeline coached me through a very challenging period in my career. Not only was I stepping into a new leadership role but I was taking on some difficult and much needed performance management tasks. Madeline was my rock and someone who I could share my frustrations and angst with in total confidence. Madeline taught me so much about my leadership style and how best to work with it to ensure the very best outcomes. She is happy, enthusiastic, professional and most importantly a fantastic listener. I would highly recommend Madeline as a coach.

Elaine Stott – Interim Head of Learning and Development at The Fremantle Trust

Madeline was my coach when I was transitioning into a new leadership role with greater responsibility. Madeline supported me through the transition, improved my confidence and helped me to reflect on my leadership style. Madeline worked with me to identify my strengths and opportunities for growth and helped me settle into my new role.

I found Madeline’s coaching style to be warm and supportive but she still challenged me in our sessions. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Anna Morris – Assistant Director of Research Strategy and Partnership at Diabetes UK

I have known Madeline for over 10 years and have commissioned her to do both coaching and facilitation of senior leadership teams.

I have always been more than satisfied with her work . Madeline brings experience, intuition, and the ability to cut through the ‘noise’ and quickly make an accurate assessment of the key issues. She is an energising presence when working with groups, and always manages to balance the need to meet the contracted outcomes for the organisation with giving the individual colleagues a worthwhile and satisfying experience. I would highly recommend her.

Sally Webster – Director of Talent and Culture The Savoy, Fairmont Hotel Group

I feel the sessions have been great, they have made me realise that I do have the strength and confidence to achieve objectives without having to panic and worry too much. I feel I have had a tough few months and one of the biggest and most important lesson these sessions have taught me is self-reflection and that I am important in what I do and contribute towards the organisation.

This new grown confidence has allowed me to deal with members of staff that are not team players in a proactive and firm manner. It is allowing me as a person to enjoy my job and take the teams in a new direction.

Thank you for listening to me and guiding me to believe in myself again.

Shabnum Rehman – Customer Services Manager

I attended Guy’s 1/2 day Performance Tune Up workshop recently. It was refreshingly different from a lot of the usual offering with similar titles because, instead of churning through lots of the same old techniques like time management, objective setting and priority list, it took a look at minimising negative influences and maximising feeling good and being energized and more productive in a sustainable way. It was practical, enjoyable and very useful.

Carl French – Founder director at The Endless Bookcase Ltd and Replico Ltd
Guy has made a real difference in the way I approach matters – both personal and professional. Insightful and a tremendous listener – it’s hard to quantify the difference he has made to the way I see things. He’s enabled me to identify some simple strategies to help me identify what I really should be concerned with, and what to ‘let go’.

Jon Phillips – Caliam HR – HR that’s a bit different
I’ve been working with Madeline this year to help me meet my objectives around personal development and effectiveness within my role. Madeline has helped me understand my skill set and where I can add value to the work that we do. I have greater confidence in my skills and I’ve become more assertive and am supporting my team to be so too. Madeline was able to help me look at my challenges differently and take a different route to addressing them.

I really enjoyed working with Madeline. Her friendliness and warmth meant that immediately I felt really comfortable sharing my challenges and trusted her judgement and thoughts. She was able to relate to me, my challenges and encourage me to think about what I wanted. She was great at explaining a number of models and tools that I will use on an on-going basis.

Madeline is friendly and easy to talk to, but also very professional as a coach and clearly knows (and loves) how to get the most out of people.

Brette Alsop – Head of Business Support – Engagement and Fundraising United Kingdom
Madeline worked with me for a year as my coach, through the organisation I was working for. I found Madeline’s knowledge, skills and approach to coaching perfect, for me to develop and change my approach to work and life. I continue to use the tools Madeline gave me to develop

Helen Gruber – Adult Social Care Manager/Consultant
All it took was one (lengthy) session for me to get the kick up the backside I needed. His relaxed manner belied a really intensive analysis of the subtext of what I was saying, getting to the nub of things quickly and manoeuvring me (subtly) into making important decisions which have had an entirely positive effect on my career and life.
